London, 1578.\u00a0 A young man is riding into London for the first time. He listens to the noise of the crowded streets, sees the great walls of the Tower of London, looks down at the waters of the River Thames. This story about Shakespeare\u2019s life is told by his friend Toby. Will Shakespeare as a friend, actor, poet, and playwright. \u00abGentle Shakespeare\u00bb, they called him…<\/em><\/p>\r\n

This is an excerpt of the book that students from the English group 4011 read: William Shakespeare by Jennifer Bassett, Oxford. After reading and learning about Will, they recreated The Globe, the theatre where Shakespeare\u2019s plays\u00a0are performed. They also did a timeline and a map of London to better\u00a0grasp his whereabouts and his daily\u00a0life.<\/p>\r\n

It was an interesting read and a very creative way of learning. Students came eye to eye with the bard\u2019s life\u00a0and his surroundings.<\/p>\r\n

Now they are sharing\u00a0their work in the exhibit at our School\u2019s library in preparation for the yearly \u00abShakespeare Competition\u00bb organised by Anglo Arts. We welcome you to come and take a look from February 24 to March 5.<\/p>\r\n

Our finalists will have the chance to win an intensive workshop in Oxford\u2019s British American Drama Academy. The runner-up will get a fully paid scholarship to an English language summer programme.<\/p>\r\n

Londres, 1578. Un joven viaja a Londres por primera vez. Escucha el ruido de las calles llenas de gente, ve las grandes murallas de la Torre de Londres, mira las aguas del r\u00edo T\u00e1mesis. Esta historia sobre la vida de Shakespeare es contada por su amigo Toby. Will Shakespeare como amigo, actor, poeta y dramaturgo. \u00abAmable Shakespeare\u00bb, lo llamaban…<\/em><\/p>\r\n

Este es un texto extra\u00eddo del libro que los estudiantes del grupo de ingl\u00e9s 4011 leyeron: \u00abWilliam Shakespeare\u00bb por Jennifer Bassett, Oxford. Despu\u00e9s de leer y aprender sobre Will, recrearon The Globe, el teatro donde se representan las obras de Shakespeare. Tambi\u00e9n hicieron una l\u00ednea de tiempo y un mapa de Londres para comprender mejor sus rumbos y su vida diaria.<\/p>\r\n

Fue una lectura interesante y una forma muy creativa de aprender. Los estudiantes se encontraron cara a cara con la vida de \u00abThe\u00a0Bard\u00bb y su entorno.<\/p>\r\n
