He listens to the noise of the crowded streets, sees the great walls of the Tower of London, looks down at the waters of the River Thames. This story about Shakespeare\u2019s life is told by his friend Toby. Will Shakespeare as a friend, actor, poet, and playwright. \u00abGentle Shakespeare\u00bb, they called him&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is an excerpt of the book that students from the English group 4011 read: William Shakespeare by Jennifer Bassett, Oxford. After reading and learning about Will, they recreated The Globe, the theatre where Shakespeare\u2019s plays\u00a0are performed. They also did a timeline and a map of London to better\u00a0grasp his whereabouts and his daily\u00a0life.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was an interesting read and a very creative way of learning. Students came eye to eye with the bard\u2019s life\u00a0and his surroundings.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now they are sharing\u00a0their work in the exhibit at our School\u2019s library in preparation for the yearly \u00abShakespeare Competition\u00bb organised by Anglo Arts. We welcome you to come and take a look from February 24 to March 5.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our finalists will have the chance to win an intensive workshop in Oxford\u2019s British American Drama Academy.
