Spelling Bee\u2019 contest <\/strong><\/p>\r\n

What is a Spelling Bee? It is a contest in which participants are asked to spell out loud a broad selection of words. This is usually in front of a moderator and a jury. We always participate with our students from primary.<\/p>\r\n

Spelling is relevant when learning English because, by practising it, we turn writing, listening, and speaking into a game that can help our students remember things faster and better, and to develop greater fluency.<\/p>\r\n

This activity is very popular among our students in primary school. The Spelling Bee was done before the lockdown. Students from 1st<\/sup> to 6th<\/sup> grade took part and they really enjoyed doing so. The competition among the kids was really amazing because they were truly committed and they studied, and of course, they liked it a lot!<\/p>\r\n

At the moment we are practising in class the list of assigned words for each category, and teachers have realised that our students\u2019 enthusiasm is wonderful. In May we will have our internal knockout rounds to get the finalists who will proudly represent our school in June.<\/p>\r\n

Concurso \u2018Spelling Bee\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el Spelling Bee?\u00a0 Es una competencia en la que las y los concursantes deben deletrear en voz alta una amplia selecci\u00f3n de palabras. Esto ocurre habitualmente frente a un moderador y un jurado.<\/p>\r\n

El deletreo es relevante a la hora de aprender ingl\u00e9s porque, al practicarlo, convertimos la escritura, la comprensi\u00f3n auditiva y la expresi\u00f3n oral en un juego que puede ayudar a nuestras y nuestros estudiantes a recordar las cosas m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidamente y de mejor manera, y a desarrollar una mayor fluidez.<\/p>\r\n

Esta actividad es muy popular entre nuestras ni\u00f1as y ni\u00f1os de primaria. El Spelling Bee se realiz\u00f3 antes de la pandemia. Participaron estudiantes de 1ro<\/sup> a 6to<\/sup> a\u00f1o y realmente lo disfrutaron. La competencia fue realmente asombrosa porque se comprometieron y estudiaron, \u00a1y les gust\u00f3 mucho!<\/p>\r\n

Actualmente estamos practicando en clase la lista de palabras asignadas para cada categor\u00eda y las maestras nos hemos dado cuenta de que el entusiasmo de las y los estudiantes es maravilloso. En mayo tendremos nuestras eliminatorias internas para obtener a las y los finalistas que representar\u00e1n con orgullo a nuestra escuela en junio.<\/p>\r\n
