First and Third Place in SEP’s 7th Spelling Bee contest!

Our elementary students that represented Colegio Madrid in the 7th Spelling Bee of the Zona 517 did an excellent job!

In the “A” category, our student from 1º grade Hannia Nava Porras won first place! She studied hard and had a great performance in the contest. In the “B” category, it was a hard battle since all the students that represented the schools of the zona knew all the vocabulary and it took a long time to eliminate them. Laura Reséndiz Hernández came up in third place after spelling many many words.   Congratulations to both!

On Monday March 13th we handed out the Diplomas to the winners of each group, each grade and our grand winners! This English project, that is in its second year, has made all the students work  in the process of improving their spelling and widening their vocabulary while having fun.

¡Primer y Tercer lugar en el 7º Concurso de Spelling Bee de la SEP!

Las estudiantes de primaria que representaron al Colegio Madrid en el 7º Concurso de Spelling Bee de la Zona 517 hicieron un trabajo excelente.

En la categoría “A” Hannia Nava Porras obtuvo el primer lugar. Estudió mucho y con su desempeño en la competencia mostró que era la mejor de su categoría.  Hubo una gran batalla entre los estudiantes que representaban a sus escuelas en la categoría “B” ya que todos dominaban el vocabulario. Laura Reséndiz Hernández terminó en tercer lugar después de muchas muchas rondas.  ¡Felicidades a ambas!

El lunes 13 de marzo se entregaron los Diplomas a todos los ganadores de grupo y grado y a nuestras finalistas. Este proyecto de inglés, que está apenas en su segundo año, ha logrado que todos los estudiantes trabajen en el proceso de mejorar su ortografía, su conocimiento de vocabulario al mismo tiempo de que se divierten.
