The aim of this workshop is to help our kids from preschool to practise and enjoy different oral and reading skills. Before reading a book, kids make predictions. They speak about the title and author, what those terms mean and where the names are located on the book’s cover. Also, they practise the vocabulary they will find in the book.
These sessions are accompanied by additional ludic activities that encourage them to use the language in real situations. Kids have an active imagination and they like to act things out or pretend that they are someone or something else.
A clear example of this was when they visited the Berlin Zoological Garden. There, they read a book about zoo animals. They discovered which animals were hungry and were looking for the zookeeper, but he was sleeping under the lower branches of a tree! Kids imagined that they were those starving animals and shouted around the playground: Harry! I’m hungry! I want a banana!
Our kids enjoyed that moment and they loved the book they read in their English class.

El objetivo de este taller es ayudar a nuestros niños de preescolar a practicar y disfrutar diferentes habilidades orales y de lectura. Antes de leer un libro ellos hacen predicciones, platican acerca del título, el autor, lo que estos términos significan y localizan los nombres en la portada del libro. También practican el vocabulario que encontrarán en el libro.
Estas sesiones van acompañadas de actividades lúdicas adicionales que los motivan a usar el idioma en situaciones reales. Los niños tienen una imaginación activa y les gusta actuar o simular que son alguien o algo más.
Un claro ejemplo fue cuando visitaron el Zoológico de Berlín. Ahí leyeron un libro acerca de los animales del zoológico. Ellos estaban hambrientos y buscaban al cuidador, ¡pero él estaba dormido bajo las ramas de un árbol! Los niños imaginaron que ellos eran esos animales hambrientos y gritaron por el patio: ¡Harry! ¡Tengo hambre! ¡Quiero una banana!
Nuestros niños disfrutaron ese momento y les encantó el libro que leyeron en la clase de inglés.
