Nowadays, knowledge is at our fingertips and students are no longer just consumers of information—they’re creators, innovators, and teachers in their own right. Bearing that in mind, we intended to appeal to the creativity and expertise of students to share their skills and knowledge with others. The idea might look simple, but it happens to be powerful since students created tutorials about topics they are interested in or things they are good at, turning their knowledge into a resource for their peers.
This project began with a couple of fostering questions: What are you good at? What can you teach others to do? From playing a musical instrument, perfecting a soccer trick, or even cooking delicious dishes, each student had the opportunity to show a skill or hobby they’ve worked hard to develop and teach their partners about it. By creating tutorials, they’re not only showing their talents but also using the English language in a fun and engaging way that helps them use it in real-like situations.
The tutorials cover a wide range of topics, reflecting the diverse interests and abilities of our students. Some of them taught us how to draw different things in simple steps, while others showed us some tricks to solve Rubik’s cubes. Through this project the students not only have shown their talents, but also, they have worked into the video editing to make their tutorials have certain quality to be seen by other members of the community.
What makes this project so special is its emphasis on creativity and by being a free topic, students were encouraged to think outside the box when designing their tutorials. Instead of simply explaining a concept, they’re finding innovative ways to make use of their knowledge of the language in an activity that could be useful for other students around the school. At the same time, it offers a tool to connect with one another in meaningful ways by getting to know the unique talents of their peers and it is also a reminder that everyone has something to teach, and everyone has something to learn.

Hoy en día, el conocimiento está al alcance de nuestras manos y los estudiantes ya no son solo consumidores de información, sino también creadores, innovadores y maestros por derecho propio. Teniendo eso en cuenta, quisimos apelar a la creatividad y la experiencia de nuestros alumnos para que compartieran sus habilidades y conocimientos con los demás. La idea puede parecer simple, pero resulta ser poderosa, ya que los estudiantes crearon tutoriales sobre temas que les interesan o cosas en las que son buenos, convirtiendo su conocimiento en un recurso para sus compañeros.
Este proyecto comenzó con un par de preguntas motivadoras: ¿En qué eres bueno? ¿Qué puedes enseñarle a otros? Desde tocar un instrumento musical, perfeccionar un truco de fútbol o incluso cocinar platos deliciosos, cada estudiante tuvo la oportunidad de mostrar un talento o pasatiempo en que han desarrollado y enseñarlo a sus compañeros. Al crear tutoriales, no solo están demostrando sus habilidades, sino también usando el idioma inglés de una manera divertida y atractiva que les ayuda a utilizarlo en situaciones reales.
Los tutoriales cubren una amplia gama de temas, lo que refleja los diversos intereses y habilidades de nuestros estudiantes. Algunos nos enseñaron a dibujar diferentes cosas en pasos simples, mientras que otros nos mostraron algunos trucos para resolver cubos de Rubik. A través de este proyecto, los estudiantes no sólo han demostrado sus talentos, sino que también trabajaron en la edición de videos para que sus tutoriales tuvieran cierta calidad y pudieran ser vistos por otros miembros de la comunidad.
Lo que hace que este proyecto sea tan especial es su énfasis en la creatividad y, al ser un tema libre, se anima a los estudiantes a pensar fuera de lo común al diseñar sus tutoriales. En vez de simplemente explicar un concepto, están encontrando formas innovadoras de utilizar su manejo del idioma en una actividad que podría ser útil para otros estudiantes de la escuela. Al mismo tiempo, ofrece una herramienta para conectarse entre sí de manera significativa, conociendo los talentos únicos de sus compañeros. Así mismo, es un recordatorio de que todos tienen algo que enseñar y todos tienen algo que aprender.
