A Turkey Full of Gratitude
November is a good time to stop for a moment and think about all the things we have to be thankful for. Sometimes, we get so busy with our daily routines that we forget how many wonderful things are part of our lives. Our families, our friends, our pets, our school, and even the little moments we share with others are all reasons to feel grateful.
In Mexico, family, friendship, and community are an important part of who we are. We value spending time together, sharing special moments, and showing appreciation for the people around us. With this idea in mind, our 5th and 6th graders created a very special bulletin board featuring a big turkey. But there is something that makes it unique: each feather is made from the handprint of a student, and on every hand, they wrote a personal message about something they are grateful for. Together, these little messages remind us that gratitude is not just about saying thank you; it is about recognizing and appreciating everything that makes our lives special.
Un pavo lleno de gratitud
Noviembre es un buen momento para hacer una pausa y pensar en todas las cosas por las que tenemos que estar agradecidos. A veces, estamos tan ocupados con nuestras actividades diarias que olvidamos cuántas cosas maravillosas forman parte de nuestra vida. Nuestra familia, nuestros amigos, nuestras mascotas, nuestra escuela e incluso los pequeños momentos que compartimos con los demás son motivos para sentirnos agradecidos.
En México, la familia, la amistad y el sentido de comunidad son una parte importante de quienes somos. Valoramos pasar tiempo juntos, compartir momentos especiales y demostrar nuestro cariño a las personas que nos rodean. Con esta idea en mente, los alumnos de 5.º y 6.º crearon un periódico mural muy especial con un gran pavo. Pero hay algo que lo hace único: cada una de sus plumas está formada por la silueta de la mano de un alumno, en la que escribió un mensaje sobre algo por lo que se siente agradecido. Juntos, estos pequeños mensajes nos recuerdan que la gratitud no consiste solamente en decir gracias, sino en reconocer y valorar todo aquello que hace especial nuestra vida.
