¡Irlanda 2014!
Este verano 2014, veinte adolescentes acompañados por la profesora de inglés Nancy Mancera, compartieron experiencias académicas, deportivas, recreativas y culturales con otros jóvenes de nacionalidad rusa, española, austriaca y china. ‘Nuestra estancia en el país esmeralda—agrega Nancy —fue un éxito gracias a dos elementos de los que nos hicimos acompañar. El primero, nuestra idea de que viajábamos como un equipo de personas dispuestas a protegerse mutuamente, crecer y aprender a vivir 21 días en un país europeo, con sus reglas y su propia realidad. El segundo y más importante, y el que nos permitió hacer entrañables amigos fueron los valores del Madrid: la tolerancia, el respeto y la apreciación por la diversidad, los cuales fueron promovidos y practicados por nuestro grupo, todo el tiempo y de principio a fin’.
‘Nuestro tránsito por uno de los aeropuertos más grandes, importantes y cosmopolitas del mundo—The London Heathrow Airport; por el Dublin Airport y por supuesto, nuestra estancia en Newtown School en Waterford, Irlanda ofreció a nuestros estudiantes la oportunidad de experimentar desde una edad relativamente temprana lo que seguramente será su realidad como ciudadanos del mundo y viajeros frecuentes. Con toda seguridad éstos fueron elementos cruciales que les hizo conscientes de la importancia real del dominio del idioma inglés para funcionar adecuadamente el siglo XXI‘.

Ireland 2014.
This summer 2014, twenty teenagers accompanied by the English teacher Nancy Mancera, shared academic, sports, recreational and cultural experiences with Russian, Spanish, Austrian and Chinese young people. ‘Our staying in the emerald country’—adds Nancy—was a success thanks to two elements we agreed to take with us to our trip. The first one, our conviction that we were travelling as a team of people willing to take care of each other, grow and learn to live for 21 days in a European country with its rules and particular reality. The second, and most important one that allowed us to make close friends, was The Madrid values: tolerance, respect and appreciation of the differences which were promoted and practised by our team most of the time and from start to finish’.
‘Our transit through one on the biggest, important and cosmopolitan airports in the world—The London Heathrow Airport, The Dublin Airport and, of course, our staying in Newtown School in Waterford, Ireland offered new opportunities for our students to experiment, from a relatively early age, what will probably be their reality as citizens of the world and frequent travellers’.
‘With complete certainty, I can say that those were crucial elements that made them aware of the real importance of mastering the English language to cope properly with the 21st century’.
