What is violence? A choice of living?

This bimonthly, our students held a debate about what is the origin of violence. Some students reached the conclusion that it is in our nature and some others replied it is learned from our environment and life experience. They finally agreed it doesn’t matter where it starts; we have the choice to be violent or not and we make the decision since we are rational. Then all students expressed their conclusion in a phrase that is shown on the bulletin board.

Este bimestre, nuestros alumnos realizaron un debate sobre el origen de la violencia. Algunos alumnos concluyeron que es parte de nuestra naturaleza y otros respondieron que se aprende del medio ambiente y experiencia.  Finalmente llegaron a un acuerdo sobre que no importa donde se origine, se tiene la decisión de ser violento o no, y se puede tomar esta decisión por ser racionales. Para concluir la actividad los alumnos expresaron su conclusión en una frase que se muestra en el periódico mural.
