This is an excerpt of the book that students from the English group 4011 read: William Shakespeare by Jennifer Bassett, Oxford. After reading and learning about Will, they recreated The Globe, the theatre where Shakespeare’s plays are performed. They also did a timeline and a map of London to better grasp his whereabouts and his daily life.
It was an interesting read and a very creative way of learning. Students came eye to eye with the bard’s life and his surroundings.
Now they are sharing their work in the exhibit at our School’s library in preparation for the yearly «Shakespeare Competition» organised by Anglo Arts. We welcome you to come and take a look from February 24 to March 5.
Our finalists will have the chance to win an intensive workshop in Oxford’s British American Drama Academy. The runner-up will get a fully paid scholarship to an English language summer programme.

Londres, 1578. Un joven viaja a Londres por primera vez. Escucha el ruido de las calles llenas de gente, ve las grandes murallas de la Torre de Londres, mira las aguas del río Támesis. Esta historia sobre la vida de Shakespeare es contada por su amigo Toby. Will Shakespeare como amigo, actor, poeta y dramaturgo. «Amable Shakespeare», lo llamaban…
Este es un texto extraído del libro que los estudiantes del grupo de inglés 4011 leyeron: «William Shakespeare» por Jennifer Bassett, Oxford. Después de leer y aprender sobre Will, recrearon The Globe, el teatro donde se representan las obras de Shakespeare. También hicieron una línea de tiempo y un mapa de Londres para comprender mejor sus rumbos y su vida diaria.
Fue una lectura interesante y una forma muy creativa de aprender. Los estudiantes se encontraron cara a cara con la vida de «The Bard» y su entorno.
Ahora están compartiendo su trabajo en la exhibición en la biblioteca de nuestro Colegio en preparación para el concurso anual de Shakespeare organizado por Anglo Arts. Te invitamos a echar un vistazo del 24 de febrero al 5 de marzo.
Los finalistas tendrán la oportunidad de ganar un taller intensivo en la Academia de Drama en Oxford. El segundo lugar obtendrá una beca completa para un programa de verano en inglés.
