The Spring Lantern Festival / Festival de las linternas de primavera
This festival is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the Chinese calendar. We didn’t want to waste the chance to take a virtual tour to China with our preschoolers and learn some details about this important tradition.
Our students located the country on a map and identified the differences between its flag and the Mexican: this was how the journey started. While putting red decorations on this holiday people ring in the New Year! We also dressed up in red which means ‘good luck’.
Our kids loved making their colourful Chinese paper lanterns which are part of this important festival.

Festival de las linternas de primavera El festival se celebra el día 15 del primer mes del calendario chino. No quisimos dejar pasar esta oportunidad para hacer un tour virtual a China con nuestros pequeños de preescolar y aprender algunos detalles acerca de esta importante tradición.
Nuestros alumnos ubicaron el país en un mapa e identificaron las diferencias entre su bandera y la de México: así fue como empezó el viaje. En esta celebración la gente pone decoraciones en color rojo para anunciar el Nuevo Año. Nosotros también nos vestimos de rojo, que simboliza la buena suerte.
A los pequeños les encantó hacer sus lámparas chinas de papel, parte importante de esta festividad.
