Another culture in our classroom
In our last workshop Reading Around the World, our preschoolers became interested in learning about the Italian culture, its traditions and customs. When we read a book related to a specific country, the students explore another culture, they are exposed to different information and they discover interesting facts about it.
In this session the students had a chance to develop critical thinking skills and to express their opinions about this country, and what they have heard or seen in other scenarios.
Santino: “The best cars are from Italy.”
Liam: “He is Julius Cesar.”
After having read the book, they reviewed the vocabulary, and they read and chose the ingredients for their own handcraft. The connection to daily life was meaningful when they made their own pizza!

Otra cultura en el salón de clases
En nuestro último taller de Reading Around the World, nuestros niños de preeescolar se mostraron interesados en aprender acerca de la cultura italiana, sus tradiciones y costumbres. Cuando leemos un libro relacionado con un país en especifico, los alumnos exploran otra cultura, están expuestos a diferente tipo de información y descubren datos interesantes acerca de éste.
En esta sesión los alumnos tuvieron oportunidad de desarrollar su pensamiento crítico, expresar sus opiniones acerca de este país y lo que han escuchado o aprendido en otros escenarios.
Santino: “Los mejores autos son de Italia.”
Liam: “Él es Julio César.”
Después haber leído el libro, repasaron el vocabulario y eligieron los ingredientes para su manualidad. La conexión con la vida diaria fue significativa ¡cuándo prepararon su propia pizza!
