Learning a language is always discovering a culture. Perhaps this is the reason why it is not an easy task; it not only means to have some linguistic notions or specific abilities to communicate, but to open our eyes and see the world from a different point of view. Getting to know the traditions, ways of life and thoughts from the people who speak the language we study is essential to understand its deepest sense. English, as any other language, is a heritage of history and stories. Besides, being one of the most widespread languages, it opens us the doors to communicate with people from very far away and to learn about them.
The secondary English bulletin board of this month is dedicated to cultures and all the festivals that distinguish them. Its objective is to remind us that the world is a tile of colors, flavors, ideas, words and celebrations; it tries, with no doubt, to make us be aware of the richness of our own culture and language, as of all those that surround us.

Aprender una lengua siempre es descubrir una cultura. Quizás es por ello que no es una tarea fácil; significa no sólo tener nociones lingüísticas o habilidades específicas para comunicarse, sino abrir los ojos y ver el mundo desde otro punto de vista. Conocer las tradiciones, formas de vida y de pensamiento de las personas que hablan la lengua que estudiamos es fundamental para entender su sentido más profundo. El inglés, como cualquier otra lengua, es un acervo de historia e historias. Además, al ser una de las lenguas más difundidas en el mundo, nos abre las puertas a comunicarnos con personas de lugares muy lejanos y a aprender sobre ellos.
El periódico mural de inglés de secundaria de este mes está dedicado a las culturas y a todos aquellos festivales que las caracterizan. Su objetivo es recordarnos que el mundo es un mosaico de colores, sabores, ideas, palabras y celebraciones; pretende, sin duda alguna, hacernos conscientes de la riqueza de nuestra propia cultura y lengua, así como de todas aquellas que nos rodean.
