My week in 7 photographs
One of the English groups of 4th semester carried out a project in which the students had to integrate their knowledge and skills to refer to people and things that are meaningful to them.
In the context of arts, they chose 7 photographs and they created a slides presentation to share with their classmates. What is more, they presented it to the students in their class and explained why they had chosen those pictures.
It is well known that we all learn things better they we are emotionally connected to them, when they let us express ourselves freely, within a trust environment, and when we have all the necessary tools to do it accurately.
In this project, our students incorporated and put to use language about art, photography, emotions and feelings. They integrated what they learnt in class with what is part of their everyday lives. That was when language and communication came to life.
We do not need to say that our teenagers are extremely creative and thanks to that, the visual aids were fascinating and interesting to look at. However, their oral presentations and explanations were, undoubtedly, what we surely enjoyed the most. Seeing what they like, the people they spend their time with, their hobbies and their feelings towards them was an enriching experience for all of us.

Uno de los grupos de inglés de 4º semestre desarrolló un proyecto en el que los alumnos tuvieron que integrar su conocimiento y sus habilidades para referirse a las personas y cosas que les resultan significativas.
En el contexto del arte, ellos eligieron 7 fotografías y crearon una presentación para compartir con sus compañeros. Además, se la presentaron a los demás alumnos y explicaron por qué habían elegido dichas imágenes.
Sabemos que aprendemos de mejor manera cuando estamos emocionalmente conectados con las cosas, cuando nos permiten expresarnos libremente, en un ambiente de confianza, y cuando tenemos las herramientas necesarias para hacerlo de buena manera.
En este proyecto, nuestros alumnos incorporaron y usaron lenguaje sobre el arte, la fotografía, las emociones y los sentimientos. Ellos integraron lo que habían aprendido en clase con lo que forma parte de su vida diaria. Ahí fue cuando el lenguaje y la comunicación cobraron vida.
No necesitamos decir que nuestros adolescentes son creativos y gracias a eso, el apoyo visual fue fascinante e interesante de ver. Sin embargo, lo que más disfrutamos fue, sin duda alguna, sus presentaciones y sus explicaciones. Ver lo que a ellos les gusta, las personas con las que comparten su tiempo, sus pasatiempos y sus emociones hacia ellos fue una experiencia enriquecedora para todos.
