Solar eclipse

Last April 8 we lived a magical experience with our students: a total solar eclipse. Magical, because for all of them it was the first time they witnessed this phenomenon.

For this reason, it was a topic studied on both subjects, Ética, Naturaleza y Sociedades and Integrated Learning. In the Integrated Learning class, the students learned basic vocabulary: umbra, penumbra, path, total solar eclipse, partial solar eclipse, annular solar eclipse and also the process of an eclipse.

Finally, they did an activity in which they moved the paper to one side to see the solar eclipse, and to the other side to see the lunar eclipse. In that way they could identify the difference between both phenomena.

The most incredible thing was to see the children’s faces full of emotion, happiness and amazement when they observed and lived the experience here, at our school.

Eclipse solar

El pasado 8 de abril vivimos una experiencia mágica con nuestros alumnos: un eclipse solar total. Mágica, porque para todos ellos fue la primera vez que presenciaron este fenómeno.

Por esta razón, este fue un tema trabajado tanto en Ética Naturaleza y Sociedades, como en Integrated Learning (Aprendizaje Integrado). En esta clase los alumnos aprendieron desde el vocabulario básico: umbra, penumbra, eclipse total, eclipse parcial, eclipse anular, hasta el proceso del eclipse.

Finalmente realizaron un trabajo en el cual movían hacia un lado el papel para ver el eclipse solar, y hacia el otro lado para ver el eclipse lunar. De este modo pudieron identificar la diferencia entre ambos fenómenos.

Lo más increíble de todo fue ver los rostros de los niños llenos de emoción, felicidad y asombro al observar y vivir la experiencia aquí, en el Colegio.
