Penpals from around the world
Students from elementary and middle school are discovering how interculturality helps them create friendship bonds around the world. They are creating a pen pals network.
Since last school year, when they were in 6th grade, there has been written communication with students from a small village in Kenia. The students at HAMOMI school are getting to know about our students’ life in Mexico and especially at Colegio Madrid, and the students, who are now in secundaria, are finding it very interesting to learn how different their lives are. The topics have been varied: traditions, school and transportation, amongst others, using English as the tool to communicate their interests and opinions.
In elementary some 6th grade students are beginning their correspondence with a school in Vancouver, Canada. We have just received their letters and some small presents that show their interest in beginning this friendship.
Los estudiantes de primaria y secundaria están descubriendo cómo la interculturalidad les ayuda a forjar lazos de amistad alrededor del mundo a través de la correspondencia escrita.
Desde el año escolar pasado, cuando estaban en sexto grado, han tenido comunicación escrita con estudiantes de una pequeña aldea en Kenia.
Los estudiantes de la escuela HAMOMI están conociendo sobre la vida de nuestros alumnos en México y especialmente en el Colegio Madrid, y nuestros estudiantes, quienes ahora están en secundaria, están encontrando muy interesante aprender cuán diferentes son sus vidas. Los temas han sido variados: tradiciones, escuela y transporte, entre otros, utilizando el inglés como herramienta para comunicar sus intereses y opiniones.
En primaria algunos estudiantes de sexto grado están comenzando su correspondencia con una escuela en Vancouver, Canadá. Han recibido con sus cartas unos regalitos que enviaron como muestra de su interés para el comienzo de esta amistad.
