Sharing what we know and what we can do
During this school year a new English project was launched in primary school, and is here to stay: ‘Our English Week’.
In Our English week, each grade prepared an activity to work on and to share with another grade, with the aim of sharing moments and practising the contents seen during the year.
As the pupils visited different grades, the first thing they worked on was their socialization. It was interesting to see how the students from the higher grades adapted to the way the younger ones expressed themselves and vice versa.
They worked with each other in an autonomous, collaborative and coordinated way and solved academic activities in a playful and dynamic way.
This was achieved when they shared the answers and solved the different tasks together. Even when we would have thought it might be difficult, the communication between them was achieved as they negotiated different solutions.
Everyone was happy, and nervous, as they did not know what would happen, but it was an event where they could appreciate the performance and development of their skills and those of the invited groups.
Students were so involved with their classmates that they desired to contribute and spend more time doing activities with different grades. In conclusion, students rocked during Our English Week!
During this week, our first grade students said goodbye to their six grade mates. The little ones dedicated some cards made by themselves. It was very moving to see them saying goodbye to the older ones from primary school and wishing them good luck in their new school stage.

Nuestra Semana del Inglés
Compartiendo lo que sabemos y lo que podemos hacer
Durante este ciclo escolar se inició un nuevo proyecto de inglés en la primaria, el cual llegó para quedarse: ‘Nuestra Semana del Inglés’.
En Nuestra Semana del Inglés cada grado preparó una actividad para trabajarla y compartirla con otro grado con el objetivo de compartir vivencias y practicar los contenidos vistos durante el año. Al realizar las actividades, los alumnos y alumnas de los diferentes grados socializaron y fue interesante ver cómo los niños y niñas de grados superiores se adaptaron a la forma de expresarse de los pequeños, y viceversa.
Trabajaron entre sí de una forma autónoma, colaborativa y coordinada. Resolvieron actividades académicas de forma lúdica y dinámica.
Esto se logró cuando compartían las respuestas y las diferentes tareas entre ellos. Incluso cuando pensamos que sería difícil, la comunicación se consiguió ya que fueron negociando diversas soluciones.
Todas y todos estaban contentos y nerviosos, pues no sabían qué podía pasar, pero fue un evento donde se pudo apreciar el desempeño y desarrollo de las habilidades propias y las de los grupos invitados.
Nuestras alumnas y alumnos estaban tan involucrados con sus compañeros de diferentes grados que deseaban pasar más tiempo y hacer más actividades con ellos. En conclusión ¡nuestros alumnos estuvieron fantásticos!
Durante esta semana, las y los niños de primer año despidieron a sus compañeros de sexto año, entregándoles unas tarjetas realizadas por ellos mismos. Fue muy conmovedor ver a los más pequeños despidiendo a los grandes de la primaria y deseándoles mucha suerte en su nueva etapa escolar.
