Human Rights Week
Children are entitled to rights and guarantees that were created to preserve their otherwise vulnerable lives, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Human Rights is one of the few paradigms that unify all humans regardless of their age, gender, race, social status, or religion. For all of us English teachers, this event was an important occasion to guide our first grade learners through the knowledge and understanding of these complex, vital and enriching 44 ways of guaranteeing that children possess a name and nationality; exercise their freedom of speech and thought; get access to healthcare and education; and have freedom from exploitation, torture, and abuse.
Introducing our learners to these concepts without gamification could have resulted in a dull, ineffective and possibly demotivating effort to equip our students with these life-changing tools.
Looking at them spending time, playing and supporting their fellow 5th and 6th grade primary students was a memorable and really rewarding experience as teachers.
Semana de los Derechos Humanos
Los niños tienen derechos y garantías que fueron creados para preservar sus vidas, que de otro modo serían vulnerables, física, mental y emocionalmente.
Los Derechos Humanos son uno de los pocos paradigmas que unifican a las personas independientemente de su edad, género, raza, estatus social o religión. Para las profesoras de inglés, este evento fue una ocasión importante para guiar a nuestros alumnos de primer grado en el conocimiento y comprensión de estas complejas, vitales y enriquecedoras 44 formas de garantizar que los niños posean nombre y nacionalidad; ejerzan su libertad de expresión y pensamiento; obtengan acceso a la atención sanitaria y la educación; y esten libres de explotación, tortura y abuso.
Introducir a nuestros alumnos a estos conceptos sin metodologías lúdicas podría haber resultado en un esfuerzo aburrido, ineficaz y posiblemente desmotivante para equipar a nuestros estudiantes con estas herramientas que pueden cambiar sus vidas positivamente.
Verles pasar tiempo, jugar y apoyar a sus compañeros de quinto y sexto grado de primaria fue una experiencia memorable y realmente gratificante como docentes.
